Sophie Lovett
“I chose food systems because I couldn’t shake off the awareness of a broken food system - a world where technology often replaces real, nourishing connections, and where our relationships with food - and thereby with ourselves - have become strained.”
Sophie is a liberal-arts enthusiast, lifelong learner, and problem solver who recently took a leap of faith - quitting her comfortable tech job in Los Angeles, embracing the unknown of life in a new country (Italy), and dedicating herself to improving and exploring food systems and the impact they have on our lives and identity.
Sophie’s professional career spans technology-based marketing and product management roles across industries such as Entertainment, Education, and Healthcare. She has managed million-dollar budgets, analyzed hundreds of datasets, built internal and external software products, and grown two product teams from the ground up. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Environmental Studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Food Studies at The American University of Rome.
Sophie is committed to reviving food systems through self-actualization, recognizing the impact that just and sustainable practices have on the lives of nature and people.
Guided by her belief that if you're solving a problem that can be solved within your lifetime, you're not addressing a big enough problem, Sophie embarks on her journey with determination to make a lasting difference in the world of food systems.
