Rationale:
Why this post? No One Eats Alone Day captures the spirit of commensality, community, and connection. Students will gain a stronger sense of belonging in their campus community through this active student engagement.
Why this platform? We noticed that Beyond Differences’ Instagram account was missing simple, attention-grabbing, promotional posts about their programs. In addition, some of their infographics contain elements that are unsuitable for Instagram. For example, Beyond Differences displays a ‘Register Now’ button on this year’s No One Eats Alone Day post, despite the fact that images are not clickable on Instagram. Given this area of opportunity, we wanted to provide an example of an infographic that is more suitable to Instagram.
Why this type of post? We chose to do an advocacy post because this format would be the most fitting to encourage educators and staff to participate in No One Eats Alone Day. The post shares information about the day and gives guidance about how they can participate through sharing steps to implement No One Eats Alone Day at their school and how to join the Beyond Differences network.
